On a perfect fall day a couple weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting another stellar family and photographing their trip to the Olmsted Falls park. These kids were wonderful to photograph, not only because gorgeous Miss Lyla had been practicing her model poses, but because they seemed to forget about my camera after a while and just had a great afternoon. After we climbed around and explored to find a quiet place for us to hang out, I had a blast capturing these kids fishing for leaves, watching airplanes fly low overhead, climbing rocks, and making silly faces at each other (and at me). What struck me about the connection these kids have with each other was the encouragement and protection that Lyla gave to adorable little brother, Simon. If she went first up a hill, she waited at the top for him to catch up. If he ran too far ahead, she help rein him back in. She offered lots of hugs to him, made him laugh when he was down, and only stuck her finger in his ear once – but it was for the sake of comedy (and, boy, did it get a big laugh)! These kids are both comedians in the making. Simon’s goofy faces, Lyla’s crazy poses, and lots of “bunny ears” photos prove that they really value laughter in this family. It’s going to be so fun to watch this wonderful family grow even more awesome together through the years. Thanks for a fantastic afternoon, you guys! Can’t wait to do it again!
