HI. I’M VIRGINIA. I grew up in Nebraska and South Dakota with my camera-shy mom and my dad whose motto is, “You can never take too many pictures.” Now I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area with my husband, my two kids, and our beloved old border collie, Norman.
I talk A LOT. My husband says that I say ten words when three will do. I wear my heart on my sleeve and probably have happy-cried twice today (no matter which day you read this). I stay up too late and drink a lot of Diet Coke (I’m sure the two are related somehow). I’m usually described as “enthusiastic” and “energetic” and having a “strong personality.” But mostly, I’m just really excited about everything most of the time. I believe in being loud. I believe in being authentic. I believe in together. I believe in love.
I love photos that feel authentic and full. Full of joy, full of love, full of chaos, full of noise, full of laughter. I love candid moments just as much as I love a good portrait, so I decided not to decide between the two. What I do is try to create storytelling portraits for your family, your wedding, and your life. The thing that matters to me the most when I photograph your story is the connection between you and the people you love most. When we focus on that, everything else falls into place.
I would love to meet you. To tell your story. And I’ll tell you mine, too, because I just can’t help myself.
Some really great folks asked me some questions about myself, so if you’d like to learn more about me, you can visit those articles on Looks Like Film, Snap Maven, The Huffington Post, and you can listen to me talk for an hour on The Family Photographer podcast.
