Dear Friends,
As I approach the end of my first year in business, I want to reflect on a few things that I have learned over the last year and share the exciting changes that will be coming this summer. This year has absolutely flown by and I can’t believe how amazing it’s been.
I am ridiculously, head-over-heels in-love with my job. I get positively giddy every single time I go out to capture your memories and at the end, I leave a session on top of the world. I love the relationships that I am building with all of you and I truly cherish our time together.
I want to provide my clients with a unique photography experience they will love. As most of you know, I am incredibly passionate about printing what you want to preserve and when my clients receive their printed products from me, they are absolutely over the moon. I want every single client to experience the joy that comes from being able to see the beautiful photographs of the people you love most in the world on display in your home — the photographs that will be printed on materials that preserve them long enough to be passed down through generations. We will create heirlooms, not files. Photos for hanging on a wall, not just posting on your wall. You all deserve to have the art that captures your joy and love where you and your children can see it — and remember not only how you looked, but how you lived.
This last year, I have been happier in my work and busier than I could have ever imagined. I’ve taken eight photography courses ranging from mastering lighting to business development to pushing my creativity, and now I’m assisting as an alumni teaching helper in the class that impacted me and changed my photography the most. I’ve learned so much about my art and I know that I want to continue to create art for you all as long as I can.
May 30th will mark my one-year anniversary in business. On June 1st, 2015, The Good Life Photography will move from the portfolio-building phase and become a full-service photography experience! We will get to know each other before our session, have an awesome time capturing your memories, and meet afterwards to select which photos you’d like to have printed and displayed (and I’ll probably bring Rice Krispy treats, so BONUS!). Every image you choose to purchase for printing will be accompanied by the digital negative of that image for social media sharing and gift printing, but the digital files will no longer be the focus of your experience. The archival printed, heirloom products that I will be offering are incredibly unique and of absolutely amazing quality, and I’m certain that all my clients will be ecstatic to have them on display in their homes.
I am so excited about the new chapter of The Good Life Photography and I can’t wait to get started giving every one of you the unique photography experience you deserve! A formal announcement will be made on June 1st with the new pricing structure and product offerings, but please get in touch with any questions you may have in the interim. If you wish to book a 2015 session at the current rate, I will be honoring that pricing if you book before May 31st, so please contact me to schedule a session. All sessions that have been scheduled thus far for 2015 will remain at the current price.
Thank you all for filling my life with joy. Creating art for you this past year has been one of the most profound accomplishments of my life and I am thankful for each and every one of you.
xo,
VA
